I am Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering in Democritus University of Thrace. My research interests focus on harbour, coastal and ocean engineering, including a particular interest in the dynamics of watershed–coast systems.

Born in Thessaloniki in 1982, I hold a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where I also earned my Diploma and MSc – both with “Honours” and as Valedictorian.
I currently serve as Director of the Laboratory of Coastal & Harbour Works, Director of the MSc Programme “Hydrometeorological Disasters Management”, and Coordinating Author for the UN World Ocean Assessment III.
Prior to my current appointment, I was a Research Fellow at the University of Bologna and have served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of the Aegean.
