I am really glad to announce the launch of the Research Topic entitled "Climate Change impacts on Mediterranean Coastal and Transitional Areas: Assessment, Projection, and Adaptation" in Frontiers in Marine Science (Publisher: Frontiers), with Dr. Davide Bonaldo (CNR, Italy), Prof. Agustin Sanchez-Arcilla (UPC, Spain), Prof. Maria Snoussi (UM5, Morocco) and myself as Topic Editors.

This Research Topic invites original scientific contributions on topics including:

• Assessment of recent trends of hydrological, hydrodynamic, morphodynamic, and ecological processes in coastal and transitional areas.
• Physical and statistical downscaling of meteo-oceanic processes in climate change scenarios.
• Adaptation, protection, and re-alignment under climate change for coastal and transitional areas
• Coastal structural design and classical interventions (e.g. nourishment) in a climate change context.
• Innovative “Nature-based Solutions” for adaptation to climate change in a climate change context.

• Healthy coastal areas and transitional ecosystems to provide climate regulation service (e.g. Blue Carbon)

I am really glad to announce the launch of the Special Issue entitled "Modelling of Harbour and Coastal Structures" in the Journal of Marine Science and Engineering (Publisher: MDPI), with Prof. Theophanis V. Karambas and myself as Guest Editors.

This Special Issue invites original scientific contributions on topics including:

• Harbour and coastal structures design and upgrading (seawalls, revetments, bulkheads, jetties, emerged/submerged groins and breakwaters, artificial reefs, etc.).
• Wave agitation and siltation problems in harbour basins and approach channels.
• Shoreline erosion control downcoast of harbours.
• Harbour layout design.

Research articles, review articles and case studies are welcome; contributions can be based on numerical, physical or combined numerical and physical modelling.

The deadline for manuscript submissions is set to November 20th, 2020.
